About Us

We’ve been where you are…

 Let’s grow together!

Meet Your Mentor!

I was always interested in health and nutrition and thought I ate a healthy diet until my 50s, when I had kidney issues that would not go away.  I was beginning to think I wouldn’t be able to leave my house, since the antibiotics I was taking every day were not helping.  I also did not want to take a medication with terrible possible side effects.  That’s when I saw Dr. Joel Fuhrman on the Dr. Oz show and heard his message about optimal nutrition reversing illness.  I immediately read his book Eat to Live, followed the recipes in the back of the book, and within two weeks, all my symptoms disappeared and have been in remission ever since.  Yes, two weeks! I thought, why didn’t I hear about this sooner?  Why didn’t my urologist suggest that I change my diet instead of prescribing medication?  Apparently knowledge of the negative effects of certain foods on health can be traced backed to the early 1900’s!   However, medical doctors are not educated in nutrition in medical school, but are taught to treat illnesses with procedures or pills.    I was determined to understand why whole food plant-based nutrition helped me, so I watched documentaries and read books by Dr. T Colin Campbell, Dr. Neal Barnard, Dr. John McDougall, Dr. Michael Greger, and Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn.  I felt it was important to help spread their message, and earned a certificate in plant-based nutrition by completing the six-week course through Cornell University.  I also attended classes on health coaching and mentoring, and completed a professional plant-based cooking program from Rouxbe.

Anyone who wants to change their health destiny may want to watch Forks Over Knives, What The Health, and The Game Changers.  While I thought it was necessary to eliminate certain foods right away, some people might not be able to or understand why they should; I was determined to reverse health issues.   There are different approaches to following a whole food plant-based diet, and I would be glad to help guide you to better health.
